stamped transmission components

At ART Metals Group, we leveraged our skills and ingenuity to provide a low-cost manufacturing solution for the commercial-duty transmission components highlighted here. By devising a lean production strategy, we reduced the total part cost and saved our OEM client significantly on this high volume project.

Our precision stamping capabilities are supported by both; in-house tool and die department and local high quality suppliers. By implementing standardized die maintenance procedures, monitoring, and coordinated efforts with this OEM customer; ART was able to eliminate the costly deburr process. As the parts exit the 400-ton Minster press, they are oriented, and placed in protective VCI bags, and stacked directly into reusable packaging. Packaging right at the press eliminated unnecessary handling. This cost saving project resulted in a 15% cost savings for this customer and reduced the amount of inventory required in the pipeline.

Constructed from various grades of carbon steel, this part family features 14 components measuring 14.5″ O.D. with thickness in the .034″ to .118″ range. Our quality system incorporates both in-process and final inspection and is compliant with IATF 16949 automotive standards. We make weekly deliveries using returnable containers as an economical and environmentally friendly alternative to single-use packaging.

ART manufactures these critical components at an annual rate of 900,000 metal stampings. Our level of service and high efficiency, has created a strong relationship with this OEM customer, allowing ART to become their preferred stamping supplier.
